Fun in Our Nation's Capitol

American Street has discovered some...uh, peculiarities with Google Maps. Type in the search terms "dickhead Washington DC," "pussy Washington DC," and "pothead Washington DC" for some interesting results. Commenters also suggest the terms "asshole," "wanker," "putz" and "chimp" as suitable search terms.

Censored Washington

So what's on the roof of the White House and the surrounding government buildings that the Feds don't want you to see? The area all around the U.S. Capitol has also been redacted -- just in case you were planning something.

Walt Disney World

After reading and posting my Google Maps tour of the NL West (which also has links to my other posts of the other National League ballparks), the Liberal Avenger has invited me to post to this blog. I've been having a blast for a while playing around with Google Maps so it sounds like fun. I thought I'd start you out with a few views of the Happiest Place on Earth - Walt Disney World.

Here's the Magic Kingdom. Across the lagoon is the Ticket and Transportation Center and the Polynesian Hotel. The Walt Disney World Speedway is just south of the TTC parking lots. Here's the Contemporary Resort with the monorail going through it. Epcot sits at the junction of scans of differing resolution. The other two amusement parks, Disney-MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom are somewhere there in the poorer resolution scans. I haven't been able to find them.

Takes Me Back

I'm sure this has been done somwhere before, but whatever. This image reminds me of my childhood or more specifically, a computer game I played a lot as a kid. What was the game?

Devil Worshippers, Washington DC

Just a funny glitch, but it's still pretty funny. You may need to zoom in to the second highest level to see why. (Via All Spin Zone)

The Florida UFO

My guess on this one is a weather ballon, although it does look like a UFO.

Things Long Gone

See if you can get a good image of a building or structure that is no longer with us. My entry is Veteran's Stadium, which I clearly recall watching implode from my roofdeck some time last year.

The Overlooked

Toledo, Ohio. Because really, how much love was Toledo going to get today? Nice muddy river flow as well.
